Starting with commercially produced maps, the artist draws views of locations as different as the Gaza Strip, the Tower of London or the atomic test grounds in Nevada . Deliberately mixing together favourite tourist destinations with politically volatile areas, Mir connects them using a language of forms from the world of comic strips that looks almost childishly naive.
