First ESA long-duration mission onboard the ISS given 1 July start
ESA astronaut Thomas Reiter, from Germany, is set to spend six to seven months in space as a member of the permanent crew of the International Space Station.
Discovery is now scheduled to lift off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida at 21:49 CEST (19:49 GMT). Docking with the ISS is scheduled for the third day of the mission.

Jahrhundert geprägt, lebt bis heute als abfälliger Terminus für bestimmte Publikationen weiter. Seit Jahren habe ich Photographien aus der Tagespresse und aus Magazinen ausgeschnitten, insbesondere aus Italienischen, die regelmäßig Paparazzi-Bilder publizieren, und in der Schublade verwahrt. Sie inspirierten mich. Später entwickelte ich eine große Begeisterung für die ‚Vermischten Seiten’. Der legendäre Chefredakteur von Paris Match, Roger Therond, beauftragte mich mehrfach, solche Ereignisse zu photographieren.“

Im Landschaftsgarten Klein-Glienicke
stürzt wieder ein rauschender Wasserfall in die Tiefe. 160 Meter lang bahnt sich der Bach seinen Weg durch eine künstliche Gebirgslandschaft, bevor er sich an der Teufelsbrücke kaskadenartig 27 Meter tief in die Mündung der Havel ergießt. Die von Ludwig Persius im 19. Jahrhundert angelegte Wasserinszenierung mit Quellbereich, Felsenteich und Bachlauf war in den 80er Jahren vollständig versiegt. Der Cornelsen Kulturstiftung ist es zu verdanken, dass der historische Wasserfall wieder hergestellt wurde – so konnte der Berlin-Potsdamer Kulturlandschaft, die zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe zählt, ihr unverwechselbares Gesicht zurückgegeben werden.

Da der Wasserfall sein volles Volumen nur erreicht, wenn sich im Felsenteich zuvor ausreichend Wasser gesammelt hat, ist das Spektakel künftig alle zwei Wochen besonders beeindruckend: Jeden 1. und 3. Sonntag im Monat wird der Teich um 12.00 Uhr geleert. 500 Kubikmeter Wasser rauschen dann durch die 'Töpfer-' und 'Teufelsbrücke'.

Modeling physical material more freely and making it move more flexibly is a dream long sought after by human beings, and many artists have created surreal illusions in pictures or moving images. But those were imaginary. Can we obtain a real object that transforms as we designed it? Protrude, flow is an interactive installation which expresses the dynamics of fluid motion of physical material, the dynamics of organic, wild shapes and movements of liquid by means of digital computer control.

Protrude, flow uses magnetic fluid, sound, and moving images. Affected by the sounds and spectators’ voices where the exhibition is held, the three-dimensional patterns of magnetic fluid transform in various ways, and simultaneously its flowing movement and dynamic transformations are projected on the wide screen. ...

In Protrude, flow, Sachiko Kodama
and Minako Takeno attempted to present the dynamic movement and shape of magnetic fluid. The art formed organic abstract shapes that move smoothly.
In Pulsate, they put fluid in a familiar place where you can find things that have ordinary meanings. Here, fluid will become a place where peoples’ thoughts mingle together

Junge Architektur aus Europa
Elf junge österreichische Architektenteams präsentierten im September 2002 in St. Veit an der Glan aktuelle Arbeiten im Rahmen einer außergewöhnlichen Architekturausstellung. Zwei Jahre später entwickelte sich daraus das Konzept einer europäischen Wanderausstellung, welche im Juni 2004 unter dem Namen WONDERLAND ihre Reise durch acht europäische Länder und Städte antrat: Bratislava, Prag, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Venedig, Zagreb und Ljubljana. In jedem der Gastländer wurde die Ausstellung durch elf lokale ArchitektInnenteams erweitert. Was als Ausstellungsprojekt begann, ist – begleitet durch ein intensives Programm – mittlerweile zu einem aktiven kontinentalen Netzwerk geworden.
In Wien angekommen, werden somit vom 7. bis zum 19. Juni im Architekturzentrum Wien 99 Teams junger europäischer Architekten in einem speziellen Ausstellungs-Setting versammelt und ihre Arbeiten diskursiv in einem vielseitigen Rahmenprogramm präsentiert. | pr Az W |

Videoszenen, die an berühmte Gemälde angelehnt sind, können auf einem Screen aktiviert werden, indem mit dem eigenen Mobiltelefon eine kostenpflichtige Nummer gewählt wird. Das Mobiltelefon dient auch als Fernbedienung und als Kopfhörer für die Klangspur des Videos. Zudem erkennt das System eingehende Audiosignale, was einen Einfluss auf die Videoszenen haben kann.
